White gold jewelry is usually plated with rhodium. This is done to give it a nice bright white finish. Without the rhodium, white gold jewelry has a yellow tint to it. Rhodium holds up very well but eventually will wear off. We often refurbish and re rhodium pieces for customers. This will restore the polish and finish to almost new condition.
White gold is much more popular now than yellow gold. We can almost always rhodium plate yellow gold to look like white gold with very good results. I get more and more requests for this. The outcome is almost always very good, and the cost is very minor. Far less than remaking the ring in white gold.
